Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who can develop, implement and drive manufacturing standards.  The Manufacturing Engineer should possess an in depth understanding of all disciplines within the business unit (scheduling, purchasing, quality and production) and have a passion for cost reductions through process and product improvements.

  • Assist mechanical designers to design improvements on the exiting equipment or build new equipment
  • Assist in the design and performing of various experiments on the product line to improve quality and consistency of the products
  • Contact suppliers regarding availability and technical performance of components and raw materials
  • Work with other engineers in problem solving team and quality related design issues
  • Assist in the documentation generation and control of drawings and tooling, manufacturing instruction, preventative maintenance procedure, engineering reports
  • Assist in the evaluation of new technology and devising of new machines, methods, and processes to improve profitability, quality, cycle time and safety
  • Participate in improving our product, processes equipment and methods

Experience:

The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical field and proven experience and proficiency with the following skills:

  • 0-5 years’ experience in design/build of equipment and fixtures, design of automation, and hands on experience in taking projects from start to finish
  • Must be able to work well independently and be self-directed
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good math and analytical skills

· Experience supporting ISO9000, AS9100 and ISO 14001 initiatives

Controls Technician

$25-40/hr
Location: Grand Rapids

Seeking an Electrical Engineer and/or Electrical Technician to assist with our operations here in Grand Rapids.  Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of experience. 

Job Responsibilities

       PLC Programming & Architecture

  1.   Conceptualize, design, program and document PLC programs for various equipment and industrial applications.
    2.    Conceptualize, design and program HMI programs for various equipment and industrial applications.
    3.    Understand, setup and tune PID Loops.
    4.    Understand, program and tune variable frequency drives.
    5.    Understand and setup current loops.
    6.    Understand, program and consume various analog and digital industrial devices.
    7.    Understand and setup basic industrial networks such as Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Modbus, TCP/IP and other forms of equipment communications.

 Shop Testing and Acceptance testing

Mechanical Engineer

Seeking a Mechanical Designer for our Grand Rapids operations. Position will entail:

-Developing innovative mechanical design concepts resulting in a new or an improved product or system

The Senior Quality Engineer will provide day-to-day manufacturing assistance to maintain process control, improve product quality and support continuous improvement.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Adhere to Quality Policy to ensure our products and services meet customer’s expectations.

Write PPAP’s and control plans

Supplier, Customer, and on the floor quality

Have an excellent understanding of ISO

Utilize Root Cause analysis and other problem-solving tools.

Apply continuous improvement tools to improve and maintain improvements to scrap reductions, uptime improvements, complaint reductions and other key business drivers.

Lead the continuous creation of Work Instructions adhered to Global Shop ERP (GSS).

Machine Operator/ Inspector

Machine Builder 20-30/hr

  • Fits and assembles components according to assembly blueprints, build standards, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction.
  • Aligns components for assembly manually or with hoists and cranes.

  • Lays out hole locations and drills and taps holes as necessary.

  • Verifies conformance of parts to pick list and blueprints using measuring instruments such as tape measure, calipers, and gauges.

  • Track labor time for work electronically using ERP system.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Operation of saws, drills, various tools.

Apprentice

We are seeking a Technical Assembler to assist in Building Custom Machine systems. We are looking for candidates that have gained some experience in any of the following areas: plumbing, welding, pipe threading, maintenance, machine building or electrical wiring. Candidates should have some experience reading blueprints and be mechanically inclined. We are looking for someone on the 1st shift that is motivated and ready to learn. We have openings at both our Grand Rapids and Holland locations.

CNC Machinist 1st or 3rd Shift

Primary Responsibilities

  •     Full command of various CNC machining processes including milling, turning  
  •     In depth knowledge of materials and tool selection for proper application
  •     Machining of large complex parts
  •     In depth knowledge of set-up techniques to ensure optimum quality and productivity through the manufacturing process
  •     Have a thorough understanding of “work fixture” offsets
  •     Proper use of Renishaw probe
  •     Ability to program “right angle” head on boring mills
  •     Ability to program “live” tooling on turning centers
  •     Performs advanced inspection of own work products as listed in the training checklist.
  •     Achieve established quality and productivity levels

  •     Proficient in reading blueprints in both English and metric using geometric tolerancing symbology.
