Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
Operate equipment assigned. Load/unload parts into either a fixture/holder or an automatic feeding device.
Follow quality and packaging procedures to ensure part is within customer specifications. Use blue print, packaging instructions, audit sheets, quality alerts, gages and visual inspection as required for the specific part.
Perform production activities as required to meet the assigned part per hour goals. (PPH)
Maintain productivity boards at the workcenter and enter production, scrap, downtime and daily notes into the Plex system. Print and attach labels to specified container.
Maintain good daily operation of the equipment by using required coolant, oil, solvent, rust preventative, soap, filter paper, gas, water and air in the proper amounts.
Clear routine equipment faults or stoppages.
Conducts basic machine maintenance as described above and keep work area clean, organized and safe.
Participate in physical inventory activities as requested.
Trains other operators as assigned.
Notifies supervisor or leader technician of any equipment, material or quality, scrap issues.
Assist with machine set-up/changeovers, repairs and continuous improvement projects as assigned.
Participate in proactive team efforts to share knowledge/skill to achieve departmental and company goals.
Troubleshoot machines when needed.
Follow scrap and production efficiency guidelines.
Communicate tool changes to the Mold Room Team via changeover log.
To ensure tools are stored in an organized and safe manner.
To be knowledgeable about company’s policies and procedures and ensure compliance as appropriate.
High School diploma or equivalent with special training in the tolling area
Must have 5 years and a thorough knowledge of machining tools with special emphasis tooling large parts
Manufacturing knowledge and machine shop equipment, preferably in the molding industry
Strong mechanical aptitude. Basic math skills. Familiar with various precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, depth and height gages.
