Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Holland
Pay: 60-75k

Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who can develop, implement and drive manufacturing standards.  The Manufacturing Engineer should possess an in depth understanding of all disciplines within the business unit (scheduling, purchasing, quality and production) and have a passion for cost reductions through process and product improvements.

  • Assist mechanical designers to design improvements on the exiting equipment or build new equipment
  • Assist in the design and performing of various experiments on the product line to improve quality and consistency of the products
  • Contact suppliers regarding availability and technical performance of components and raw materials
  • Work with other engineers in problem solving team and quality related design issues
  • Assist in the documentation generation and control of drawings and tooling, manufacturing instruction, preventative maintenance procedure, engineering reports
  • Assist in the evaluation of new technology and devising of new machines, methods, and processes to improve profitability, quality, cycle time and safety
  • Participate in improving our product, processes equipment and methods

Experience:

The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical field and proven experience and proficiency with the following skills:

  • 0-5 years’ experience in design/build of equipment and fixtures, design of automation, and hands on experience in taking projects from start to finish
  • Must be able to work well independently and be self-directed
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good math and analytical skills

· Experience supporting ISO9000, AS9100 and ISO 14001 initiatives

Mechanical Engineer

Location: Grandville
Pay: $25-38/hr

 

Seeking a Mechanical Designer for our Grand Rapids operations. Position will entail:

-Developing innovative mechanical design concepts resulting in a new or an improved product or system

-Research and analysis of data. 

-Aiding sales and Application Engineers with proposals specifications

-Assuring that designs meet customer and industry specifications

-Design of machinery (Solidworks or Inventor preferred)

-Originating and preparing proposals concepts, models, drawings and technical support documentation.

-Executing machine design calculations and analysis including finite element analysis as needed.

-Designing all structural components including weldments and machined components.

-Reviewing machine manuals for technical content and coordinate with technical writers.

-Providing manufacturing requirements, work instructions, control plans, and other required data to Manufacturing.

-Willingness to travel up to 5%

Quality Engineer

Location: Grandville

Pay: 80-110k 

The Senior Quality Engineer will provide day-to-day manufacturing assistance to maintain process control, improve product quality and support continuous improvement.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Adhere to Quality Policy to ensure our products and services meet customer’s expectations.

Write PPAP’s and control plans

Supplier, Customer, and on the floor quality

Have an excellent understanding of ISO

Utilize Root Cause analysis and other problem-solving tools.

Apply continuous improvement tools to improve and maintain improvements to scrap reductions, uptime improvements, complaint reductions and other key business drivers.

Lead the continuous creation of Work Instructions adhered to Global Shop ERP (GSS).

Support Fast response and Focus Quality meetings on the floor.

High impact improvement (Six Sigma) projects (Cost Savings projects is the focus).

High focus in standardization.

 Qualifications:

7+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing type setting

ISO/audit experience.

PPAP, APQP, PFMEA experience.

Ability to apply “hands-on” approach to leading Team members.

Strong interpersonal skills. Strong leadership skills.  Effective oral and written communication.

Understanding of Quality Assurance/Improvement tools and techniques and Quality Management Systems.

Understanding and working knowledge of statistical techniques.

Project Management skills.
